Program Topic: Abandoned and Homeless Children from 1854-1929

a) Children were boarded on trains and sent west to live with adopted families for labor or to be part of the family but most of the children were adopted to work on the family farms etc.
b) Thousands of children were sent out west without any contact or communication with their birth parents, mostly as a result of parental loss or neglect.
