Baby Talk 02/16/06

Hello – This is Cathy Jacobs, host of Baby Talk, the monthly program that is all about babies and young children. On Thursday, February 16th Baby Talk will focus on early literacy. We’ll be talking about the early building blocks upon which reading, writing, and communicating are built and will discuss some of the ways that families and communities can assist with building this foundation.

My guests will be Susan Plimpton, children’s librarian from Southwest Harbor; Kate Bartley, statewide coordinator of Raising Readers; and Mike Towey, speech and language specialist at Waldo County Hospital. As usual, you, the listeners, can join the discussion by calling in with your questions and comments.

Please join me for this discussion of early literacy by tuning in to Baby Talk on Thursday, February 16th, from 10 to 11 a.m., right here on community radio, WERU-FM, 89.9 Blue Hill, 102.9 in Bangor, and on the web at weru.org.
